I’m a developer, not a designer, and often I really don’t need a lot of design tools – just a simple crop and resize. My vote is for Picnik.

My vote is for Basecamp. I worked for a global consulting firm and had to use what is now MS SharePoint and MS Project -which I can’t say anything good about. I have operated my own design consultancy for 8 years now and have used Basecamp for at least 5 of those years. It has saved my ass many times! http://basecamphq.com/

Google Analytics if I have to pick one; but I feel like a general Google Account complete with Docs, Calendar, Picasa, Gmail etc. is a powerhouse for supporting a site / campaign.

VOTE: Adobe Kuler as an app, but Google Search is valuable to find solutions to problems, design, organization or programming.

It has tremendously changed the way I used to manage projects earlier & made collaboration much easier then before.
Also Adobe Photoshop is very effective.

I see a lot of votes for this one and I have to join them. Color is one thing that is so important yet so easy for me to mess up. Very handy.
