Always nice to weigh in on the concept of "color weight" in design. Informative article and a good reference for later!

Great article Kayla. The examples helped to understand easily the concepts. I liked the heart because I've seen designs with this balance.

"Kayla Knight is a web designer and web developer who loves coding way too much for her own good!" I liked this by-line as much as the article. Thanks for writing!

There's not much here that touches on Gestalt principles, e.g. contrast, size, complexity are not Gestalt principles (although, Simplicity is), examples of Gestalt principles would be Reification, Multi-Stability, Closure, Figure etc.

However...a good web designer would do well to read up on Gestalt. It's quite drawn out though, I studied it at University and may be overkill for your average designer.

Still, some good points!
