I'd like to give a plug for a very good book on card sorting by Donna Spencer. If anyone wants to get serious about this topic, Donna's book is well-written and very, very helpful. It's on my own bookshelf - virtual - I bought the ebooks.

Kayla, nice introductory article. One small point I was always under the impression that card sorting was more a research tool that an testing tool. Wouldn't TreeTesting be a better method to confirm the card sort.

Word of warning on getting users to prioritize the page content, what they may think is good idea still has to have a designer look over it for usability issues and align with the business direction. I would also recommend testing the outcome as well.
