On my own I just put up the name of the site with a bit of a design that was provided by the theme. But now that I look at some of these, wow, they definitely make an impact. I'm used to designing website headers in a very strict canvas space which doesn't hog the whole page or detract from the written content below it. But whenever I see these cool, huge header styles of sites, I have to admit I wonder if I'm missing out on something!
